PI Obtains Data and Information Security Certifications

Data and information security have always been high priorities at The Predictive Index, and we are delighted to announce that PI has just achieved two major security milestones: The ‘First Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II accreditation’ and the ‘International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001: 2022 recertification’.

The SOC 2 Type II assessment validates PI’s robust security protocols and processes, ensuring comprehensive protection for PI’s business, software, data, and – most importantly – clients. It eliminates concerns about data privacy and security at PI. The ISO-27001 is a common standard for ensuring data security in information technology that proves the excellence of PI’s security standards. PI has had the ISO-27001 certification since early 2022 and has now completed the recertification. At Humanostics, we are pleased to offer this official assurance to our clients who can continue to work safely with people data and assessment tools, knowing that the data is as safe as can be.

PI Software Pro-Tip: Enable Explicit Consent

When asking candidates or employees to complete PI assessments, you can choose to enable the so-called excplicit consent functionality for the PI Behavioral Assessment. Go to the Administration module, click on Company Settings and put a check-mark next to ‘Enable consent function for Behavioral Assessments’. Then fill in your consent message in the field below. This will cause your message to appear when the assessment taker clicks the link to start the PI BA, and they will need to tick a box stating that they agree to the message before being able to initiate the actual assessment. If you enable the explicit consent functionality, we encourage you to include in your message that this consent also applies to the PI Cognitive Assessment. If you choose not to enable explicit consent, we advise you to update your email invitation templates to include information about how you process data and include a link to your privacy policy. CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR COGNITIVE ABILITY?

The short answer is no. The PI Cognitive Assessment measures an individual’s general cognitive ability, which tells us how fast the person can be expected to acquire new knowledge. This factor is stable throughout adulthood and cannot be improved with any kind of practice. If a person scores higher on the PI CA the second time they take the assessment, it is most often because they have familiarised themselves with the format of the CA (the layout and navigation, the timer, the types of questions, etc.), allowing them to focus entirely on answering the questions. Other reasons for a higher score the second time around could be that the assessment taker was interrupted during their first attempt, that they were unfocused or tired, or that they chose a second language the first time and their native language the second time. In any case, the highest score can be considered the most accurate reflection of how fast they can be expected to acquire new knowledge. We recommend using the PI Cognitive Sample Questions to prepare for the PI CA – a link to these is automatically included in the email invitations that go out from PI Software
