Do People Really Change?

Almost everyone matures and develops with age and experience, so the questions are: what changes and what does not? The PI Behavioral Assessment measures motivational drives that are statistically stable over time. This means that an individual’s PI profile (the Self pattern) tends to stay more or less the same throughout their adult life. What does often change over time is a person’s ability to adapt their behaviour to different situations. This ability develops with age and experience and – perhaps most importantly – self-awareness. With each behavioural pattern comes a set of natural behaviours which can be described as the ‘unfiltered’ version of the personality. Or in other words: the behaviours the person will likely display when they are stressed, tired, or hungry. All behavioural profiles have some natural strengths but also some potential caution areas. One person’s behaviour may be perceived as odd, annoying or incomprehensible by someone with a different profile, regardless of what the intention was. Knowing how your natural behaviour may affect other people or impact your relationship or your goals may lead you to try to tone something up or tone something down in certain situations. So in short, the motivational drives and needs as shown in the Self pattern of the PI profile tend to stay the same over time while displayed behaviour often changes with the environment. As a side note: Because the PI Behavioral Assessment measures stable personality traits, we only recommend administering the assessment once per person. If you would like to learn more about multiple administrations of PI profile, check out this document

PI Software Pro-Tip: Include CA Sample Questions

Assessment takers of the PI Cognitive Assessment can use the PI CA Sample Questions to familiarise themselves with the format of the PI CA before taking the actual assessments, giving them the best foundation for performing up to their cognitive potential. As a software admin (AccountOwner or AccountAdmin), you can ensure that a link to the sample questions is included in the e-mail invitations that go out from PI Software: Go to the Administration module and click on Company Settings, then scroll down to Software Email Settings. From the drop-down menu, choose ‚Take the Cognitive Assessment‘ and make sure the box at the bottom where is says ‚Include link to PI Cognitive Assessment Sample Questions‘ is ticked. This will include the link in the email invitation to cognitive assessment takers.

USING PI IN RUSSIA AND MAINLAND CHINA

During the past couple of years, it has become increasingly difficult for PI, and other SaaS suppliers, to provide a stable connection to PI services due to ever changing / tightening local IT restrictions in mainland China in terms of firewalls and other national legislation and regulation. After thorough considerations and investigation, The Predictive Index have decided that as of January 1st 2025 they will not be supporting the use of PI in mainland China to the same extent as they do today. The same decision was made for Russia back in 2022 due to political reasons, but has to this date only affected Russian clients. From 1. January both assessment takers and PI Software users located in mainland China and Russia will be affected by the changes. There are ways to continue the work with PI in those countries so if you have assessment takers or PI Software users located in mainland China or Russia, please reach out to us so we can explore the options and find the best solution for you to continue your work with PI. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this decision – please reach out to your PI Consultant if you have any questions or concerns.
